The new film confirms that Lemmons and Jackson are a movie team made in heaven.. Mostly good fun.. Watching the film, it's easy to imagine how a novel might make the unlikely plot machinations less ludicrous.. Lemmons creates mesmerizing passages, but she can't bring this one to a fulfilling crescendo..
